JESSE FIELD

Jesse started playing hockey when he was 6 in Maine, and continued on to play with the New Hampshire Nighthawks and the Oyster River Wildcats. Recently Jesse competed with the World Team in Toronto 2004 and with the Minnesota Gay Team in Chicago 2006. Currently Jesse lives in Houston, Texas with his partner James and their two incredible retrievers (golden and yellow) Sam-Bone and Miss Piggles. Jesse loves the ocean, the mountains, and the woods and feels most at home in nature. Aside from his partner, pizza and beer make him smile.



CHARLIE MULKEEN

Charlie Mulkeen grew up outside of Boston and started playing hockey at the age of seven. He has many fond memories of playing throughout his youth, but took a fifteen-year break from the game while living abroad before settling in NYC. After reading a magazine about New York City Gay Hockey Association, he soon found himself shopping for a new pair of skates. Now Charlie plays for the New York Lions, a perennial favorite in their men's league, and enjoys traveling with his teammates to tournaments around North America. Off the ice Charlie is an editor in educational publishing, likes to go out with friends for food or drinks, and has become an avid fan of his adopted NHL team, the New York Rangers.

Pierre started playing hockey at age 4 on the pond that his dad put together in the backyard of their home in Quebec City, Quebec. He's played with the Minnesota Venom with a group of heterosexuals, and the gay Minnesota Orion, since 2003-2004. Pierre works with Lavender Media in Minneapolis. He moved to America to learn and play in English. Pierre has been a fan of the Quebec Nordiques and the Colorado Avalanche for 28 years. He loves to travel and is working at mastering the four main languages of the continent (French, English, Spanish and Portuguese). Pierre also loves advertising and creative design and is his husband's lover.



KEITH MILLER

Keith Miller started playing hockey in the 3rd grade up in the northern part of Minnesota. He kept with it and played on varsity in High School and Junior College. Keith now works as a project manager in telecommunications construction and is in a 6+ year relationship with the person he loves the most in the world. Keith loves to party, gamble and play sports.



PAVEL NADIN

Pavel was born in the former Soviet Union and made it to the United States at the age of 21.  Upon graduation from college, he moved to St. Louis to work as a network engineer and pursue his obsessions with music and hockey.  Pavel became a resident DJ in one of largest dance clubs in the city and started playing in competitive hockey leagues.  He soon became a regular player at North American gay tournaments and won the bronze medal at the 2006 Gay Games.  Besides Pavel’s passion for hockey, he actively participates in science and philosophy forums where he likes to debate the most enduring questions of humanity.  No wonder he’s single!



DAVE SIMPSON

Dave Simpson first started playing hockey on the frozen lakes and ponds on New Jersey at the age of 11. During the short New Jersey winter outdoor skating season, Dave would try to maximize his time playing hockey from dawn to dusk (with a little school in between). Dave has played with the New York Lions of the NYCGHA for the last 9 seasons of which the Lions have won 6 Chelsea Piers league championships. To support his hockey habit, Dave works an an IT analyst and probably east pizza at least 15 times a week. When not playing hockey, Dave also enjoys traveling, playing volleyball, hanging with friends and family, going to the movies/theatre and watching sports on TV.



RICH KUERSTON

A graduate of the University of Denver, Rich is currently pursuing an MBA at Georgia State University with concentrations in both Marketing and Finance. He currently works in the not-for-profit sector and servers as the Assistant Executive Director of Chi Phi Fraternity, a nationwide social fraternity headquartered in Atlanta - a job that he maintains is one of the coolest on earth. Rich started playing hockey at age 12 in Tulsa, and played for the usual youth, travel, high school, college club, and men's league teams, including the Colorado Climax. He's also worked as an ice-hockey referee since he was 14. Rich has traveled to all but seven US States and enjoys just about any political conversation he can find. He lives in midtown Atlanta with his partner, Chris and their dog, a 4-year old beagle-whippet mix named Aspen.



KURT GABRIELSON

Kurt started playing hockey when he was five and played in youth hockey growing up in Litchfield, Minnesota. Kurt played varsity hockey for four years and really enjoyed it. He's been playing on a Minneapolis USA Hockey Adult League for the past four years. Kurt has his Masters Degree in Nurse Anesthesia and is a Staff Anesthetist at a major metro hospital in Minneapolis. He ripped his left hamstring entirely off his pelvis playing hockey last March, then had it surgically screwed back on. Kurt likes to lift weights, snowboard, rollerblade, run, show horses, water ski, hunt pheasant, and fish. Kurt also loves the beach and goes to Outboard every year.



GEORGE MARESH

George Maresh began playing at age 14 in Denver, Colorado in the Denver University Junior Hockey Program, and soon after also began to play at Regis High School in Denver. After Regis High, George stopped playing hockey until he joined the Denver gay hockey team, Colorado Climax, and found the leap from the Jesuits to gay hockey not so large. George is now in Hotel Management and has taught himself German.

Paul started playing hockey when he was five years old in Norwood, MA. Paul kept up with hockey off and on, and currently skates with the Colorado Climax. Paul played on the Gay Games 02 Sydney Gold Boston Team. Paul lives in Denver, Colorado. When he's not flying paper planes on the professional tour, Paul enjoys snowboarding, documentaries, travel, hanging out iwth family and friends, canvas painting and photography.



ERIC KIRKLAND

Eric Kirkland started playing hockey at the age of 7 in Sterling Heights, Michigan in the Mile division for the Maple Leafs, the Squirt Minor division for the Bruins, the Squirt Major division for the Flyers, the Pee Wee division for the Flyers, the Pee Wee division for the Sterling Heights Blades travel "A" team, the Bantam division for the Sterling Heights Blades, and the travel "A" team Bantam division Compuware "AAA." As an adult Eric has played with the adult recreation "A&B" division MC Blades, Fraser, MI. 1990-95 and the adult recreation "C&B" division Colorado Climax competitive team 02-present. While skating with the Climax, Eric has helped the team earn several medal honors both in and outside of the league, and has become the top scorer in Climax history. Eric currently works for Qwest Communications in Human Resources and likes to travel, movies, music, computers, web design and pro sports.



GLENN WITMAN

Glenn started playing ice hockey at the age of nine in Philadelphia, PA and continued to play for the Philadelphia Little Flyers and then Hobart College (Division III) in Geneva, NY. After graduating college in 1992, Glenn kept playing hockey recreationally in Idaho and Colorado. Glenn recently played with the Colorado Climax at the World 2006 Out Games in Montreal. He currently plays for PowerPlay Partners (A Men's League) in Denver, CO. Besides hockey, Glenn leads a Top Producing Real Estate Group out of Coldwell Banker in Cherry Creek where he specializes in Investment Properties for buyers and sellers. At the age of 12 years old, Glenn made a half court shot during the Philadelphia Sixers game and won a car and trip to Club Med on Paradise Island. Glenn loves to travel, go to the theatre, eat and drink well, and snowboard.



DAVE FARBER

Dave started playing hockey when he was 5 years old in Wynnewood, PA. When he was nine, he began playing for travel teams in Albany, NY and then played for the Tray-Albany Riverman travel program until he was 14. He then played for Bethlehem Central High
School Varsity hockey from age 14-18 (freshman-senior year). He has been playing for the UPenn Fighting Quakers since 2005.



LUKE LAMBRECHT

Luke started playing hockey when he was 8, in his home town of Rochester, Minnesota. He played on the Rochester traveling teams, and in high school he played for JR. Gold, traveling. Currently he plays for the Big Gay Moose...something that he laughs at every time he says it.
 
His interests include snowboarding, wakeboarding, motocross, and riding his Yamaha R6 sport bike.

 
 

RIP: Brendan Burke's death has left a void
A few select people on this earth illuminate. Brendan Burke, who died [last month] in a car accident, was one. At 21, Brendan was blazing a bright new trail for himself and other young gay hockey sportsmen like him. The lost potential is heartbreaking.

 

Oneonta Lacross Captain Comes Out
Andrew McIntosh flirted with suicidal thoughts just nine months ago. But after watching the movie 'Milk," he came out to his friends, coach and co-captains. Now he tells his coming-out story to help other gay athletes like him.
